Bio-identical Hormone National Congressional Call In Day -- A Great Success! Steven F. Hotze October 16, 2008
Projects FANS would like to thank everyone who participated recently in the BHRT National Congressional Call-In Day on Sept. 10, 2008. The event was a resounding success!
Because of an organized effort by Project FANS and other groups, over 25,000 pharmacists, patients and physicians called their members of Congress to make the case for estriol.
The ultimate goal is to increase the number of co-sponsors for S. Con. Res. 88 and H. Con. Res. 342 which will result in a reversal of FDA policies that restrict access to estriol. We will update our site as additional co-sponsors sign on.
Thank you again for your participation regarding this critical issue!
Sincerely,
Project FANS |

Defend your Right to Use Bio-identical Hormones Steven F. Hotze, M.D. July 02, 2008 Will you join our army and help us recruit 100,000 individuals to contact the U.S. Congress demanding our right to use bio-identical hormones? Wyeth and the FDA have attacked the rights of patients, pharmacists and physicians who have chosen the safe and natural alternative solution of bio-identical hormones. We are in a life or death struggle. Wyeth has worked in collusion with the FDA to protect its profits by having the FDA issue a compliance policy guideline prohibiting the use of Estriol. This action is a continuation of the FDA's campaign to ban all bio-identical hormones, Armour Thyroid and all compounded preparations from the market place. Wyeth and its other Big Pharma allies want to destroy compounding pharmacy because it represents competition. The FDA is the hammer used by Wyeth to carry out its objective. |

Protecting Rights to Custom Medicine |
Bill and Jan Mixon Go to Washington: Local Pharmacist Lobbies Congress to Protect Access to Customized Medications Lobbying Effort Takes Place in Wake of Landmark, Pro-Compounding Court Ruling
July 2007- More than 400 pharmacists from across the nation descended upon Washington, D.C., earlier this month to lobby Members of Congress to protect access to customized, compounded medicines for patients who need them. One of the pharmacists who made the trip was Bill Mixon accompanied by his wife, Jan Mixon, of the Compounding Pharmacy in Hickory, NC. While meeting with various elected officials and their staff, Bill and Jan along with their colleagues discussed the value of pharmacy compounding. Pharmacy compounding is a pharmacy practice that enables doctors to prescribe customized pharmaceutical treatments for patients when one-size-fits-all manufactured products are inappropriate. While state boards of pharmacy regulate pharmacy compounding, pharmaceutical manufacturers are pushing for onerous, federal restrictions that would restrict patient's access to needed medications.
